The Mesa MSL-500 Digital Lock Kit is a direct replacement for digital locks used on the Mesa MBF Series Gun Safes & MBF Series Burglar & Fire Safes. If you are having an issue with your lock, this lock kit can be used to replace your lock. We recommend calling Mesa's technical support to determine if this lock will work on your safe before buying.
If you have a Mesa MFL Depository Safe, you need the MSL-500 Electronic Lock Kit.
Features:
- Safes that use this lock include the MBF Series Gun Safes and MBF Series Burglar & Fire Safe (MBF5922E, MBF6032E, MBF7236E, MBF1512E, MBF2020E, MBF2620E, MBF3820E).
- Two user-code capacity. You can program two distinct user codes, each up to 8 digits long.
- Lock-out penalty: if three incorrect codes are entered consecutively, the keypad shuts down for 15 minutes and won't accept any codes during that period.
- Low-battery warning: The lock emits a red light (in addition to the green light) when the battery is low. If your code is accepted but the lock doesn't open, that's the sign.
- 9-Volt battery power: Uses a 9V battery. When changing the battery, the codes/settings are retained.
- Override key capability: There is a hidden override key slot behind the keypad (for emergency access if you lose the code).
- Programming via internal red button: To change the user codes, use the red button on the inside hinge side edge of the door (or inside the safe) during the programming sequence.
Usage Notes / Requirements:
- Immediately change the factory-set user codes to your own unique codes for security.
- Make sure the door is open when programming codes to avoid accidentally locking yourself out.
- The keypad will emit a green light and a "click" when the correct code is entered; a red light and 5 beeps indicate an incorrect code.
- Press keys with fingertips only (not with nails, pends, etc) to avoid damaging the keypad.
